Tribeca Film Festival in the US is postponed due to coronavirus pandemic.

The 2020 Tribeca Film Festival in the US has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

While the official dates announced for the 19th edition of the American film event have been April 15 through April 26, the event gets rescheduled for an unstated time in the future over the crisis of COVID-19 pandemic.

The festival authorities have, however, planned to hold some parts of the event online. The 360 section of the fest, for example, 15 virtual reality films will screen online so the journalists and the film distributing companies can watch the productions.

The jury members of the film festival including Danny Boyle, Regina Hall and Lucas Hedges will decide on the winners of this edition of the event who will be announced online.

Jane Rosenthal, the cofounder of the event has said that the Tribeca Film Festival was originally launched following the devastating incident of September 11, 2001 in 2002. It was aiming to inspire hope among people and get them close to one another.
